Mrs. Beth Friend
Welcome to 6A! My name is Beth Kleve-Friend, (Mrs. Friend) and this is my eleventh school year here at SSPP and my 19th year of teaching. I am originally from Calmar, Iowa a small town in Northeast Iowa where may parents still reside. I have two "little big brothers" as I like to call them that are both in education. I am also the proud aunt to the two cutest nieces and the most handsome nephew in the world and one more niece or nephew to arrive at the end of August! I am truly blessed to be a part of their lives. I love spending as much time as I can with them given the miles apart.
I completed my BA from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Thourgh out my teaching career, I have worn several different hats. They have included being a resource teacher for 5th and 6th graders, and a fifth grade teacher, and subbed for a year. However, I have found my niche teaching sixth grade/junior high. I love teaching 6th grade/junior high students. I am looking forward to teaching math and science this year; getting back to my roots and loves in education!
Sixth grade is a wonderful grade to teach. We will have a great year of exciting things to do and learn!
Outside of school I enjoy spoiling my nieces and nephew, enjoying a good book, being outside, and trying to cook/bake new things.
I look forward to the new adventures each new class brings!
