My name is Dana Iaccino, and this is my first year teaching at SSPP Catholic School. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a minor in English from Elmhurst College, which recently changed its name to Elmhurst University! After getting my degree, I taught fifth-eighth grades for many years in a public school district in Arlington Heights. During that time, I received my graduate degree in school leadership/curriculum from Concordia University. Eventually, I put teaching on hold so that I could be a stay at home mom to my two sons who are now 16 and 18 years old.
Most recently, after missing teaching immensely, I re-entered the teaching world. I have taught sixth-grade language arts at Cary Jr. High, and fifth grade at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic school in Crystal Lake. I find teaching middle school-aged children to be both challenging and rewarding! My family and I have lived in Huntley for 18 years. My oldest son is a freshman at the University of Kentucky, while my youngest is a junior at Huntley High School. My parents live a few miles away from my husband and me in Del Webb, where I can keep a close eye on them! Family is very important to me, and I am very enthusiastic about being a part of the SSPP family now, where I hope to remain for a very long time.
